PHYSIOTHERAPIST & OWNER
Brandon Dobson, MSc MCSP
I’m Brandon, the physiotherapist behind Tidal Physiotherapy, based here on the North Norfolk coast at Wells-next-the-Sea. My job, simply put, is to help you move better, hurt less, and get back to the things that matter to you — and to do it with the time, care, and attention you deserve.
My Mission
I came to North Norfolk a stranger, and it gave me a home.
I built Tidal Physiotherapy to repay that — to add not just years to life, but life to years. To keep this community strong, moving, and free for as long as I am able.
That is the work. I can think of none better.
A Decade in Health and Human Performance
My work in health and movement spans the best part of a decade. It began with a First Class Honours degree in Sport Science at the University of Lincoln, where I fell for the science of how the human body adapts, strengthens, and thrives. From there I spent years as a self-employed personal trainer, coaching real people through real change — work that taught me as much about motivation and habit as it did about exercise.
That foundation led me to physiotherapy and to an MSc at the University of Essex, which I completed with Distinction. The combination matters: I don’t just treat the injury in front of me, I understand the whole person around it — their goals, their lifestyle, and what genuinely keeps them well over the long term.
Broad Clinical Experience
I’ve been fortunate to train and work across an unusually wide range of clinical settings, which means very little walks through my door that I haven’t seen a version of before. My experience spans:
- Musculoskeletal and sports injury — my clinical home and special interest, from everyday aches to complex post-surgical rehabilitation.
- Trauma and orthopaedics — including elective surgical recovery and return-to-function planning.
- Neurological rehabilitation — including stroke, Parkinson’s, and neuro-critical care. To be candid, I find this work the most fufilling of all.
- Respiratory and acute hospital care — within a busy NHS teaching hospital.
- Community and emergency care — keeping people safe, mobile, and independent at home.
My Story
I’ll be honest with you, because I think it matters. I didn’t have an easy start. I grew up in a single-parent household shaped by addiction, hardship, and a great deal of uncertainty, moving from place to place and leaving home at the age of fifteen. Encouragement was scarce, and stability scarcer still.
What that gave me, in the end, was resilience — and a deep, lasting empathy for people facing their own difficult chapters. I went on to excel in my studies, earn a place in and serve with the Royal Air Force, and build a career in a profession I love. I know what it is to be knocked down and to get back up, and I bring that same patience and quiet determination to every person I treat. Nobody’s recovery is a straight line, and you’ll never be made to feel that yours should be.
Welcomed Home to North Norfolk
For someone who spent his early life without a place to truly call home, North Norfolk has given me something I never expected: a sense of belonging. This community welcomed me with open arms, and I feel genuinely blessed to have put down roots here among its people, its coastline, and its remarkable warmth.
Tidal Physiotherapy is, in many ways, my way of repaying that kindness. It’s how I give something back to the place and the people who gave me a home.
